Cease-Fire Called In Patent Row Over Antivirus Software

Law360 (January 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Marking the end of hostilities, Japanese Internet security company Trend Micro Inc. has settled a long-standing patent infringement dispute with California-based Fortinet Inc. over the antivirus technology used in computer network servers.

The companies announced the truce on Monday, with both parties agreeing to end the ongoing litigation before the U.S. International Trade Commission and to dismiss all other pending court actions.

Other terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
