Ebbers Asks Judge To Overturn 25-Year Sentence

Law360, New York (January 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Former WorldCom chief Bernard Ebbers is back in court, asking a judge to throw out the securities fraud conviction that landed him a 25-year prison sentence, the harshest to date to come out of the corporate scandals of a few years ago.

Ebbers appeared in federal appeals court, asking a three-judge panel to overturn his conviction on the grounds that the government kept key witnesses from testifying on his behalf.
