Solutia's Lawyers Seek $89M For Ch. 11 Work

Law360, New York (March 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Lawyers for the newly reorganized Solutia Inc. have filed their final fee applications with a bankruptcy court, seeking a combined $89 million for the work performed in the chemical company's protracted Chapter 11 case.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP, which was retained by Solutia more than three years ago, filed its last invoice Friday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The firm billed the revived company more than $57 million in compensation and out-of-pocket expenses for its services since February 2005....
