Immigrant In US Illegally Can't Join Bar, Fla. Justices Say

Law360, Miami (March 6, 2014, 8:04 PM EST) -- In a highly anticipated decision, the Florida Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that immigrants living in the U.S. illegally are ineligible to be admitted to the Florida Bar, saying that doing so would go against federal law and current state law does not provide a path around those restrictions.
