House Bill Reverses Course On Airfare Tax Breakdowns

Law360, Los Angeles (March 6, 2014, 6:21 PM EST) -- A bill introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday proposes to make airline pricing more transparent by reversing a law that made the same promise of improved transparency when it was adopted two years ago.

The bipartisan House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee pitched legislation that would require airlines to separate government taxes from what the company charges for the flight, reversing an earlier rule that required the two to be folded together.
