Del. Wins High Court Feud With N.J. Over BP Plan

Law360, New York (March 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Burying a proposed $500 million natural gas facility and ending a long-running state border dispute, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that Delaware has the power to block development in waters it shares with New Jersey.

In a 6-to-2 majority ruling issued Monday, the high court justices held that Delaware acted within its rights when it refused in July 2005 to grant permits to BP unit Crown Landing LLC to build the LNG facility on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River.
