Facebook Chief Says New Data Use Notification Tools To Come

Law360, New York (March 7, 2014, 10:03 PM EST) -- Facebook Inc. Chief Privacy Officer Erin Egan said Friday that the company is planning to soon roll out new tools that will enable users to better understand how their information is being used by third-party advertisers and outside sites that ask them to link to Facebook.

During a conversation at the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ annual summit in Washington, D.C., Egan repeatedly stressed that one of her main priorities was to ensure that users “understand what’s going on” with their information.
