BP Says Deepwater Discovery Would Show Less Serious Spill

Law360, New York (March 10, 2014, 7:23 PM EDT) -- BP PLC is urging the federal judge overseeing the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation to allow evidence about the seriousness of its April 2010 oil spill despite the federal government's objections, arguing Thursday that it has the right to pursue additional discovery.

The U.S. Department of Justice has claimed that there is already plenty of evidence before the court revealing the seriousness of the spill, but BP insists that the number of barrels released into the Gulf of Mexico is not enough to prove that the spill...
