Tom's Toothpaste Hit With Class Action Over 'Natural' Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (March 7, 2014, 10:33 PM EST) -- Personal care products manufacturer Tom's of Maine Inc. was hit with a proposed class action in Florida federal court Friday by a consumer who claims the company falsely represents that its toothpaste is "natural" when it actually contains heavily processed ingredients.

Named plaintiff Allison Gay alleged she was duped into buying Tom's-brand toothpaste at supermarkets in Florida based on representations that it only contained natural ingredients.
