GSK Violated Competition Laws: EU Advocate General

Law360, New York (April 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Court of Justice of the European Communities' advocate general has suggested that the court find GlaxoSmithKline Plc's practice of selling three drugs in Greece on a quota system in order to combat parallel trading a violation of Europe's competition laws.

The advocate general found Tuesday in a nonbinding, advisory opinion that Glaxo subsidiary GlaxoSmithKline AEVE was likely abusing its dominant market position.
