Target Faces Infringement Suit Over Swatch Trade Dress

Law360, New York (March 11, 2014, 7:03 PM EDT) -- Swiss watchmaker Swatch AG clocked Target Corp. with a trade dress infringement suit in New York federal court Monday, saying it was ticked off with the retailer for allegedly selling knock-off watches.

On its face, Swatch's complaint claims that Target, the third-largest retailer in the country, wound up selling near-identical imitations of two of the company's watches and then pocketed the cash. The Swiss company wants the retailer to hand over the proceeds and wants any alleged knock-offs banned from stores.
