Global RE Investment Hit $1.2T Last Year, Highest Since '07

Law360, New York (March 12, 2014, 3:05 PM EDT) -- The global property investment market tallied $1.18 trillion in transactions last year, up 22.6 percent from a year earlier and the highest that figure has been since 2007, according to a report Wednesday by global commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield.

The firm said increased liquidity, more confidence among businesses, increased demand and improving economic conditions contributed to the rise. Cushman predicts total global investment in 2014 will hit $1.33 trillion, with the U.S. and Western Europe acting as key drivers.
