Texas Attorney Admits Forging Judges' Signatures

Law360, Dallas (March 12, 2014, 7:10 PM EDT) -- A San Antonio criminal defense attorney facing trial on 46 felony counts stemming from her alleged overbilling of work for indigent clients and forgery of judicial signatures pled guilty on Tuesday to two of the charges after jury selection had begun.

Hilda Valadez, who the Bexar County district attorney said was once identified as the attorney receiving the most money in court-appointed attorneys' fees, faces up to 10 years in prison and will pay a total of about $80,000 in restitution under a plea agreement reached...
