FTC Settles With Security Co. Over Do-Not-Call Violations

Law360, Chicago (March 12, 2014, 3:04 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission said Wednesday that it has inked a settlement with a Massachusetts home security firm that allegedly flouted telemarketing rules by calling millions of consumers listed on the National Do Not Call Registry.

The deal resolves a complaint filed Monday against Versatile Marketing Solutions Inc. and its owner, Jasjit Gotra, who were accused of purchasing consumer names and phone numbers from lead generators and then failing to check the numbers against the DNC registry, the FTC said in a statement
