Texas Bar Sues Atty Over Client Referral Scam

Law360, Houston (March 12, 2014, 4:53 PM EDT) -- The Texas State Bar launched a disciplinary suit against a Houston attorney on Tuesday in the wake of a criminal investigation that also ensnared a state lawmaker for allegedly paying kickbacks to a chiropractor in exchange for client referrals.

The Commission for Lawyer Discipline says that on at least three occasions, attorney Clyde Miller paid Robert Valdez Sr. to refer personal injury clients from the Greenspoint Health and Injury Center and Eastex Health and Injury Center chiropractic clinics.
