Bouygues Ups Offer For Vivendi's SFR Unit In Bidding War

Law360, New York (March 13, 2014, 3:15 PM EDT) -- An all-out bidding war has erupted for the French mobile phone and Internet provider SFR, a unit of Vivendi SA, as rival French telecommunications company Bouygues SA said on Thursday it has upped its bid as it competes with Altice SA’s Numericable unit for the buy.

Bouygues boosted the cash portion of its offer of €800 million ($1.1 billion) to €11.3 billion, thereby passing along the proceeds from a contingent agreement earlier this week to dump some of its spectrum assets and mobile network, the company said....
