Ex-Texas Prosecutor To Plead Guilty To Taking Bribes

Law360, Houston (March 13, 2014, 4:12 PM EDT) -- A former Texas prosecutor could plead guilty as early as Monday to federal charges that he took cash bribes in exchange for promising to dismiss criminal cases, according to court records.

Antonio Reyes is set to enter a new plea to a single count of conspiracy to commit federal wire fraud for allegedly dismissing criminal cases after soliciting bribes via text message during his time as an assistant district attorney for El Paso County.

Attorneys for Reyes did not immediately respond to a request for comment...
