Sen. Wants Tax Credit Revived To Help Manufacturing Towns

Law360, New York (March 13, 2014, 6:27 PM EDT) -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, introduced legislation Wednesday that seeks to extend the now-expired new markets tax credit an additional three years and send the money to manufacturing communities.

The NMTC, which expired at the end of 2013, provided tax credit incentives to organizations that invested in low-income communities, but Brown says the scheme is still strongly needed in manufacturing communities.
