FTC Seeks Input On Child Privacy Protection Program

Law360, New York (March 13, 2014, 5:20 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Thursday opened up for public comment an application from the nonprofit Internet Keep Safe Coalition seeking to establish a safe-harbor program to help police website operators make sure they're complying with child privacy protection laws.

IKeep Safe asked the FTC for approval to establish its safe harbor program under the agency's recently expanded Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Rule. The group's proposed program aims to help ensure that the practices of website operators and online services comply with COPPA.
