Judge Deals Setback To Defendant In Laptop Lock Suit

Law360, New York (April 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal court has rejected an attempt by PC Guardian Anti-Theft Products Inc. to bring invalidity arguments in a patent dispute over lock technology for laptops.

On Tuesday, Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California struck down PC Guardian’s final invalidity contentions against Kensington Technology Group’s patent based on a technical violation. But the judge allowed the defendant a chance to amend its initial arguments.
