Ex-Chevron Engineer Awarded $500K For Legal Fees

Law360, New York (April 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former Chevron Corp. petroleum engineer who won a $5.6 million jury verdict in her case alleging she was wrongfully terminated from the company for complaining about discrimination has been granted the lion's share of the attorneys' fees she requested.

Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California partially granted plaintiff Kiran Pande's bid for fees and expenses Monday, awarding her a little more than $500,000 of the nearly $800,000 she had sought to recover.
