French Website Ordered To Take Down Sarkozy Recordings

Law360, Chicago (March 14, 2014, 6:12 PM EDT) -- A Paris court on Friday ordered a website to pull down secretly recorded conversations between former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni, and hit the former aide who made the recordings with damages for the leak, according to media reports.

Under the court’s order, news site will be subject to daily fines if it doesn’t remove the recordings, and former Sarkozy aide Patrick Buisson must pay €10,000 ($13,900) in damages to the couple, the BBC and other news outlets reported.
