Fed. Circ. Sinks Drilling Cos.' $684M Claims Against DOI

Law360, New York (March 14, 2014, 3:50 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Friday upheld a previous court's decision in a $684 million suit launched against the U.S. government by two drilling companies, saying the Department of the Interior did not breach its lease.

The two oil and gas exploration companies — Century Exploration New Orleans LLC and Champion Exploration LLC — had alleged that changes the DOI had made to an offshore drilling agreement had breached express terms of their lease.
