Global Partners Rips Crude Oil Moratorium In Albany

Law360, New York (March 17, 2014, 12:37 PM EDT) -- Albany County, N.Y.'s moratorium on any expansion of crude oil processing facilities is illegal and arbitrary, Massachusetts-based fuel transport and storage company Global Partners LP said Friday in a sharply worded letter that said the move puts the county at risk of damages for an unconstitutional taking.

The company's letter says it alone "appears to be the focus of your purported moratorium," and notes it has invested $30 million at an oil processing terminal in the city's port since 2007.
