NY Crowned As The Worst State For Taxation

Law360, New York (March 18, 2014, 1:07 PM EDT) -- New York residents have the highest state and local government-imposed tax burden in the country, a whopping 40 percent higher than the national average in 2013, according to a study released on Tuesday by financial information company WalletHub.

New York taxpayers' individual average annual state and local tax burden in 2013 was more than $9,700. California, Connecticut and New Jersey also topped the list, all ranking within the top 10 tax offenders in the country.
