Walk-In Clinic Co. To Pay $1.2M To End Medicare FCA Suit

Law360, Washington (March 18, 2014, 4:36 PM EDT) -- American Family Health Care Inc. has agreed to pay $1.2 million to settle a former employee's False Claims Act suit alleging the walk-in medical care provider overbilled the federal government for Medicare-related outpatient visits, the U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday.

The agreement between the government and the AFHC, which has medical facilities in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia, resolves a suit brought by ex-employee and whistleblower Anita C.
