Law360, New York (April 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Saying that Greka Oil and Gas Inc. violated directions to clean up an oil spill, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has taken over a Greka Superfund site in central California, while the company accuses the EPA of unreasonably denying it the chance to satisfy its obligations.
The EPA and Greka both announced Monday that the EPA had assumed control of Greka's Bell Lease in Santa Maria, Calif. But agreement on what has transpired ends there.
