Lawmakers Press GAO To Weigh In On TRIA Debate

Law360, Chicago (March 19, 2014, 7:11 PM EDT) -- Two House Republicans have urged the Government Accountability Office to draft a report on the soon-to-expire Terrorism Risk Insurance Act to aid lawmakers as they mull whether to renew the government-backed reinsurance program.

In a March 13 letter, Reps. Randy Neugebauer, R-Texas, and Ed Royce, R-Calif., said the GAO could help the renewal debate with a study on the costs and benefits of the TRIA, along with the potential impact of scrapping the law.
