NY's MVP Health Settles Over Mental Health Claim Denials

Law360, New York (March 20, 2014, 2:22 PM EDT) -- Health insurer MVP Health Care has established a $1.5 million fund to pay mental health claims it refused to cover and will review denials that could total an additional $6 million, as well as pay a $300,000 penalty, after a New York investigation uncovered "widespread violations of mental health parity laws," the New York attorney general said Thursday.
