Canadian Student-Loan Data Breach Suit Gets Class Cert.

Law360, New York (March 20, 2014, 7:47 PM EDT) -- A Canadian federal court agreed Tuesday to certify a class action accusing Canada's federal government of breaching student loan agreements and the borrowers' privacy rights by losing a hard drive that contained the personal data of more than half a million student loan program participants.
