Lego Wants Rival Blocked From Selling Knockoff Figurines

Law360, New York (March 20, 2014, 3:50 PM EDT) -- Lego A/S hit rival toymaker Cra-Z-Art with a design patent and copyright infringement suit Thursday in Connecticut federal court, alleging Cra-Z-Art has released a line of figurines under its Lite Brix brand that illegally mimics the Lego Friends line.

In its complaint, the Danish toy giant accuses Randolph, N.J.-based Cra-Z-Art of deliberately infringing its intellectual property through sales of figurines featuring a trapezoidal torso, cylindrical head, arms bent slightly at the elbows, straight legs and inverted feet.
