Calif. Carbon Fuel Restrictions Face High Court Challenge

Law360, New York (March 21, 2014, 5:08 PM EDT) -- A coalition of energy, trade and farm groups are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to invalidate California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard, arguing in a petition Thursday that the state is unfairly punishing industrial and agricultural activity in other parts of the country.

The LCFS considers where fuel comes from when it applies its carbon intensity analysis, counting distribution and transportation costs against manufacturers.
