GM CEO To Testify To House Panel On Recall

Law360, New York (March 21, 2014, 3:46 PM EDT) -- General Motors Co. CEO Mary Barra will testify before a House committee on the controversial recall of 1.6 million vehicles over a fatal ignition switch defect, lawmakers said Thursday, as the auto industry’s regulator itself was asked to submit records disclosing how it handled complaints of such defects in GM vehicles.

A panel of the House Energy and Commerce Committee will question Barra and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s acting administrator David Friedman on April 1 about when they knew about the vehicle’s safety problems,...
