Senior House Lawmakers Fire Up New Ukraine Aid Bill

Law360, Washington (March 21, 2014, 7:11 PM EDT) -- The two ranking members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Friday introduced the latest in a series of bills to sanction Russian leaders and banks and support Ukraine during its ongoing political turmoil, after stripping from a similar Senate bill some measures that Republican leaders had opposed.

H.R. 4278, the Ukraine Support Act, is meant to help promote Ukraine’s sovereignty through measures such as financial and energy sector support, while sanctioning those that have sought to undermine the country's independence and stability — specifically, Russia...
