Gov. Brown Signs Bill To OK Finishing Of Treatment Post-ACA

Law360, New York (March 21, 2014, 7:31 PM EDT) -- California Gov. Jerry Brown on Thursday signed a bill aimed at ensuring that patients undergoing certain courses of previously covered treatment can finish their treatment despite changes to health insurance coverage due to the Affordable Care Act.

The bill, AB 369 or the Continuity of Care bill, allows a person with health coverage that was canceled between Dec. 1, 2013, and March 31, 2014, to request that his or her new plan continue to cover previously covered treatments for specific conditions, such as cancer or pregnancy,...
