As Tax Season Dawns, Trademark Battle Heats Up

Law360, New York (February 3, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- In the latest stab in a long-simmering trademark feud with H&R Block over e-filing software, archrival Intuit Inc. has filed its answer and counterclaims of fraud and false advertising in defense of its TurboTax ad campaign.

According to papers filed in a Missouri District Court, only four days after H&R Block stated in its suit against Intuit that it prepared more than 26 million tax returns last year, Block submitted another document reflecting conflicting, “materially different” figures.
