Ex-Prez Of Wis. Co. Admits Distributing Tainted Cheese

Law360, New York (March 24, 2014, 7:17 PM EDT) -- The former president and owner of a Wisconsin-based cheese company has agreed to plead guilty to distributing thousands of pounds of contaminated cheese, in violation of U.S. Food and Drug Administration orders, according to documents filed in Illinois federal court Monday.

As part of an agreement with prosecutors, Miguel Leal will plead guilty to single counts of conspiracy to introduce adulterated food into interstate commerce, introduction of adulterated food into interstate commerce and obstruction of a proceeding. He will face up to 13 years in prison,...
