EU Antitrust Authorities Raid Auto Exhaust Companies

Law360, New York (March 25, 2014, 2:35 PM EDT) -- Competition authorities in the European Union on Tuesday conducted a series of unannounced raids in several member states on companies that produce automotive exhaust systems, an initial move in determining whether the firms have violated the 28-nation bloc's antitrust rules.

The European Commission's competition arm issued a statement confirming that the raids had taken place and outlining its worries in very general terms, but did not offer detail on the companies targeted in the unannounced inspections.
