State AGs Settle With Four Loko Maker Over Teen Marketing

Law360, Chicago (March 25, 2014, 7:47 PM EDT) -- Attorneys general from across the country inked a settlement Tuesday with the maker of the fruit-flavored alcoholic beverage Four Loko, putting to rest allegations that the company marketed the drink to underage consumers and masked safety risks associated with combining alcohol and caffeine.

Phusion Projects LLC agreed in the deal to pay $400,000 to attorneys general from 20 states, along with San Francisco’s city attorney, and submitted to various restrictions on its marketing practices for the drink, particularly those directed at college students, according to a...
