GAO Report Says VA Needs To Improve Information Security

Law360, New York (March 25, 2014, 3:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office published a report on Monday saying the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs continues to face “long-standing” problems with its information security, putting veterans’ confidential personal information at risk to a cyberattack.

GAO Director of Information Security Issues Gregory Wilshusen presented the report as testimony at a U.S. House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs subcommittee hearing on Tuesday considering draft legislation to address information security with the VA.
