Obama Should Take New Path On Trade, AFL-CIO Head Says

Law360, New York (March 25, 2014, 3:25 PM EDT) -- AFL-CIO President Richard L. Trumka on Tuesday criticized the Obama administration's approach to trade policy, saying it is based on an outdated model that favors corporate interests and doesn't do enough to protect labor rights.

Speaking at the Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C., Trumka made a case for a new approach to negotiations for proposed trade deals such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership between the U.S. and several Pacific Rim countries and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union.
