Apple Protests New York's 'GreeNYC' Logo

Law360, New York (April 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Arguing that New York City's new trademark for environmental initiatives is too similar to its own ubiquitous logo, Apple Inc. has filed a federal challenge to the Big Apple's GreeNYC trademark application.

NYC & Company Inc., New York's tourism and marketing office, filed the trademark application last May for the city's “GreeNYC” campaign — an initiative to promote recycling, energy efficiency and other environmentally friendly behaviors.
