10-Cent Bag Fee Proposal Back Before NYC Lawmakers

Law360, New York (March 26, 2014, 3:14 PM EDT) -- A group of 19 New York City lawmakers on Wednesday unveiled a new push to force retailers to charge customers 10 cents for carryout bags — and prevent retailers from forbidding shoppers from using their own bags — in a renewed push to reduce the huge amount of bag waste the city produces.
