J&J May Have Destroyed Vaginal Mesh Docs, DOJ Told

Law360, New York (March 26, 2014, 2:34 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice should conduct a criminal probe into whether Johnson & Johnson and its top executives intentionally destroyed tens of thousands of documents relevant to multidistrict litigation over vaginal mesh injuries, a consumer advocacy group said Wednesday.

In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, the consumer and workers’ rights nonprofit Corporate Action Network argued that the DOJ should investigate whether J&J and CEO Alex Gorsky obstructed a criminal investigation of health care offenses and destroyed records in a federal probe.
