Fla. Senate Passes Bill To Outlaw Pregnancy Bias

Law360, Miami (March 26, 2014, 6:33 PM EDT) -- The Florida Senate on Wednesday unanimously approved an amendment to the Florida Civil Rights Act that would prohibit discrimination against pregnant women and resolve an appellate court split on whether the state's current sex bias prohibition extends to pregnancy.

S.B. 220, sponsored by Sen. Geraldine F. Thompson, D-Orlando, passed the full Senate in a 39-0 vote with no debate.
