Calif. High Court Approves Limited Product Warnings

Law360, New York (April 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California court ruled on Thursday that manufacturers do not have to warn specialists about the dangers of their products if the dangers should be reasonably well known by the specialist.

In a case in the Supreme Court of California, the judges found for American Standard Inc. The court said the air-conditioning company did not have to warn a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technician about a potentially harmful gas that flows through its air-conditioning pipes.
