Humana Hit With Shareholder Class Action

Law360, New York (April 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of shareholders launched a putative class action Thursday against Humana Inc., accusing the company's chief executives of artificially inflating stock prices and misleading investors with false economic projections.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, proposes a class of investors who purchased the health insurance company's common stock between Feb. 4, 2008, and March 11, 2008, and suffered the plunge in stock value after Humana abruptly revised its economic forecast.
