EU Pushes Non-U.S. Antitrust Class Action Model

Law360, New York (April 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Designed to encourage European businesses and consumers to sue for damages resulting from anti-competitive behavior, the European Commission's much-anticipated white paper was unveiled last week with proposals that aim to create a European version of antitrust class action litigation that steers clear of what many Europeans see as problems with the U.S. model.
