Frontier Joins Other Airlines In Bankruptcy

Law360, New York (April 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Frontier Airlines Holdings Inc. filed for Chapter 11 Thursday, becoming the fourth air carrier to seek the confines of bankruptcy court in the last few weeks.

The parent company of Denver-based Frontier Airlines said it filed for Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York after an unexpected attempt by its principal credit card processor, First Data Corp., to substantially increase a hold-back of customer receipts or keep a larger share of proceeds from ticket sales.
