Prosecutors’ Push For Personnel Changes Draws Fire

Law360 (April 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Defense attorneys say they are worried that federal prosecutors may have lent a hand in pushing out General Reinsurance Corp. chief Joseph Brandon, who stepped down from his post on Monday.

Four former executives of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s reinsurance unit were convicted in February of manipulating financial statements. And prosecutors were pressuring the company to oust Brandon as CEO of the unit, The Wall Street Journal reported last week.
